Christopher McQuairre (The Usual Suspects) wrote the screenplay for X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2, based loosely on the comic book miniseries of the eighties, written by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller. In
comic Wolverine heads to Japan to pursue his lover Mariko Yashida. When he arrives, he discovers that she was forced to marry a cold businessman who abuses her. Wolverine tries to help you escape antagonizing Mariko's father, Lord Shingen Harada, who drugs him and challenges him to a duel, but Logan still managed to defeat him. In this miniseries Wolverine is also facing The Hand (La Mano), the criminal cult made up of the ninja.
Unlike the comics, Wolverine has a romance with an actress in Japan. It is unclear whether the protagonist is the daughter of a criminal or married to a violent man.
After the departure from the race for the director's chair by Robert Schwentke, Warner remained with two candidates: David Slade and Darren Aronofsky. In mid October 2010
Aronofsky became the director of X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2. Filming starts in March 2011 in New York and after the completion of the sound stage production will move to Japan.
